Or at least it is in our neck of the woods where we have rape-fields a plenty and hedgerows full of gorse. There's an argument that says rape-seed looks most stunning under brilliant blue skies, but I think that the colour in softer light and the blue grey of storm clouds is a worthwhile mix as well.


Gorse can give it a run for its money in the colour stakes though – and they make for a nice contrasty spring scene when taken together with a stormy sky to add some drama..
